After much anticipation, consternation, perspiration, exasperation, comes now, Elation!!
Rachel and Cody are married. And it was a fine launch. There’s really nothing much to say, except how pleased I am with the two of them as a couple. They talk to each other about everything. They consider one another in every personal choice. They share both their problems and their joys.
If they keep that up, they’ll still be together many years from now. They’re off to a great start. Here are some photos from last night:
It’s funny how different people react to weddings. Suprisingly, I wasn’t emotional at all, even though I expected to be. I guess I’m just content with whole idea of Rachel and Cody being married. He’s a great guy to call “Son-In-Law”!! And his family is fantastic. What great friends we will all be in years to come.
It was great to see so many of Rachel’s friends come to join in the fun, including our dear Dr. Sam Delchad and wife Laal who drove over from San Diego. We love them greatly. Their son Kamal has grown into one of the best wedding photographers I know and so, of course, he was there too, working. (We tried to feed him well.) And Nina Firooz also came over from California! What a great job she did singing for the ceremony! My brother Pat, his wife Jody and their kids Emma and Ian made the trip from Virginia as did my niece Amy (my sister’s daughter). My mother Katy was there from Virginia and our old family friends, Paul and Joyce Bengtson, who now live in Gold Canyon, AZ.
My favorite part was dancing with my daughter to the sound of Red Grammer’s “Flight” (it’s on his album “Soul Man in a Techno World” – check it out!) And as we danced, Cody danced with his lovely mother, Rae. What a delightful picture!
We had Aunts (a BUNCH of them) and Uncles and Cousins from Illinois, Virginia, West (by God) Virginia, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and of course, Arizona. And everybody danced!!
And When I say Everybody Danced, I mean EVERY ONE!
