Robert Gillies’ New Singles – Make it a Double!

In my 40 years as a “singer/songwriter” I have met hundreds of young talented folks who claim that title. But from the moment I met Robert Gillies, I knew THIS was the guy who would cause me to question the validity of my own claim!

Rob has just released two singles through Amazon that are well worth your time.

The first is “Saturday in June” – a delightful rhythmic guitar and vocal piece with skillfully selected chords that paint images of a rainy summer afternoon and take you back to the wistful longing you felt for a new love in tour life. The song won the Grand Prize in the 2009 Songdoor International Songwriting competition. Part of that prize was a professional studio session at 16-Ton Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.

Robert capitalized on that reward with his second new single “Dating with a Checklist”. This second song is masterfully produced to enhance Robert’s superb jazz chord changes that sweeten the angnst of the song’s lyrics, evoking images so palpable you can almost smell her perfume!

Robert Gillies’ songs are well crafted works of art.
