The TRIO rides again in Tucson!

Received last night:
“Congratulations! The Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association is pleased to invite
Darrell Elmer Rodgers to perform at the 32nd Annual Tucson Folk Festival.
You are scheduled to perform at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 6th on the Museum of Art Stage (In the Museum of Art Courtyard). “

IMG_3933So there you have it friends! Mark your calendar for May 6, 2017 and see the Darrell Elmer Rodgers Trio – with Rick Heyman on bass and Michael Parker on drums – perform at the Tucson Folk Festival, Saturday May 6th behind the Museum of Art.  The last time we played that stage was two years ago and we received a standing ovation! (of course, some of them may have just been anxious to get another beer, because that’s the official Festival Beer concession site)

This will be my 9th year to play at this Festival which is among the longest running FREE folk music festivals in the entire country.  And some of you might be pleased to know that the performers all undergo “extreme vetting”!  That is, we all auditioned competitively to earn a spot on the program.  And the program spans two full days (about noon to moon) and covers 5 stages with acts both local and from afar (this year, “afar” includes me)

I’ve already heard from several friends (including Jim Pipkin, Eric Ramsey, Eb Eberlein) who are also performing and expect dozens more.  This is one of the BEST music events in Arizona. You really should make the trip!
